Swim Carnival Thursday March 3rd 

9.30 - 1.00 

The children will need to bring:

- two named towel 

- named swimming togs

- named caps 

- named goggles (optional)

- named whanau coloured t-shirts (or their school sports shirt or a white tee shirt if they do not have the right colour) 

- Something warm to put over their togs between races, named

- a named water bottle 

- named sunblock 

Helpers still needed:

Thanks to those who have volunteered. You should have received an email from Mrs Coker confirming this.

We are still short of some parent help for the Year 5 & 6 judging 9 - 11 and the year 3 & 4 judging 10.30 - 1.00.

If you can help or have volunteered to do activities and would be happy to change, please email Mrs Coker as soon as possible. Her email is j.coker@howickprimary.school.nz

Remember to bring in family photos!

We have been writing about our families and will be displaying our awesome stories on the wall. So, we would love some family photos to go with them! 

If you don't have any family photos, then you can draw a nice picture of your family. 

Also - if you only have one copy of your family photo, you can email me a picture of it or I can photo copy and give the original back to you. 

Cycle Safety!

Hi again,

you should know me already but i'm Bradley call me Brad!

So on Wednesday we had cycle safety at Howick Primary School we had the normal morning block then KAPOOOO! then bikes had arrived outside Room 3 it was strange for a second but then we realised it was CYCLE SAFETY!! We all got hyped up and excited but we had to wait for Room 2 to go. Room 3 was so hyped but we couldn't go yet! Aww. We waited till after morning tea then we learnt how to put a helmet on our heads securely. Then after lunch we rid our bikes and did some courses on the senior courts we had loads of fun and played plenty of games!

The year 3 - 6 swim carnival is coming up! 

Next week, on Thursday the 3rd of March, we are running a bunch of fun activities and events in and out of the pool and some traditional races. 

We need parent volunteers to help run events. Your support is essential and appreciated  - we are unable to run the event if we don't have your help.

Please check the newsletter tab on the blog for more information. Notices will also be coming home. If you are interested in helping, please send me an email or return the form. 

 At the moment, we are learning to present plays to an audience! We are still practising - but will be presenting on Friday.

That Awesome First Week ------>

Hi,

I am Bradley call me Brad anyways I am here to talk to you about the amazing first week with our teachers Mr Jackson, and Miss Robertson.

Tuesday

 Firstly we got in a circle to introduce ourselves and see how many people we know in our class by saying everyone's names. After we chose our desks Miss Robertson wanted to make sure we sat next to the right people. She told us if we are really off task we have to get moved. So I chose Emma, and Georgia we started off good friends and then were mad because we got off task but we moved around instead to another desk.

Wednesday

We first named our books Math, Reading, Writing and Spelling so then we named our class mascot called KAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is so cool your imagination is his path for fun! We then went swimming and had free time to play in the pool.

Thursday

We found out Mr Jackson would teach us on Thursday! Meanwhile Miss Robertson has release to finish work and stuff, and get us cool activities!

Friday

We had fun the whole week now its time to start writing! We were writing about our summer holidays it goes with our picture that we drew. We had fun all week Thanks Miss Robertson!

My First week of school 🤗

Hi my name is Cody I want to tell you about my first week back at school.

TUESDAY!

On the first day of school the class sat in a circle  to learn each other's names we all had 

A turn to see who new everybody's name.After we chose wear we were 

going to sit.Miss R said that we couldn't sit next to people that we were 

going to talk to.So I chose to sit next to Eman and Jayden.They are really 

nice friends.Then we went home.

WEDNESDAY!

The next day we named our books spelling reading maths and concept.

Then we named our class toy.We had a vote and the wining name was kawaii!!!

He is so cool! Your imagination is his life! After that we went for a swim and even better it was a free swim!!!

THURSDAY!

We found out that mr Jackson was going to teach us on Thursdays while miss R had release to finish work and get the class some more cool activities!

FRIDAY!

 We had an awesome week and now it was time to get back to work.So we had to write about our school holidays.we also had to draw a picture to go with our writing.

I had the best week of my life this week all thanks too miss R!!!!!!!!!!

Remember - tonight is meet the teacher evening!

Everyone meets in the hall at 7pm - welcome, staff introductions, and school messages 

Then, all senior school parents meet in room 2 for the 'meet the teacher session' and for a basic rundown of what is going on in the senior school.

Remember to bring your togs every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. 

 If you do not have your togs, you must bring a note explaining why you aren't swimming! 

Also - swimming caps are compulsory. As of this coming week if you don't have one, you won't be able to swim! 

REMEMBER YOUR P.E GEAR TOMORROW!

We are starting sports on Friday afternoon (tomorrow) so YOU MUST HAVE YOUR P.E GEAR! 

If you do not have P.E. yet, you must bring a note and some black shorts and a t-shirt that is either your whanau colour or Howick Primary colours. 

Meet our class mascot! 

He doesn't have a name yet so we need to find him one! Come up with some awesome names and we will discuss them and vote later in the week :)
