Howick Primary 2016 Swimming Carnival!

Yesterday was the 2016 swimming carnival! We had all been waiting for this day( well most of us!) The weather was beautiful and just looking at the pool made us feel excited and nervous!

Once we all arrived to school the first thing we did after the bell rang was...get changed.Later when we were all changed we made sure that EVERYONE had sunblock on to protect us from the sun, and of course we went to the bathroom! We were also told what group we were in! The three groups were Marlins,Dolphins and Seals!

Then it was finally time to swim,to have fun and to try our best! But sadly the whole Senior school had to sit on the hot concrete in the sun and were given the instructions on how the Swimming carnival was going to work! Then it was actually time to swim, have fun and try our very very best!

The event started with the year five marlins! They were all swimming against the same gender as them to make the races fair!! The year five Marlins did very well and looked like they all tried their hardest!

After a lot of cheering and supporting it was the Dolphins turn! Luckily for them the got to swim a shorter distance! As well as the Seals too!!!

To finish all that competitive swimming each class got to do a fun race! room Three did...you guessed it a NOODLE RACE!!!!!!! It was really fun and it calmed room Three down after all that swimming!

Because the Morning Tea bell had already rang we still had a late Morning Tea!Twenty minutes later one of the Staff rang the hand bell, so the whole Middle and Senior school lined up on the courts! It was now Middle Schools turn to swim their hardest and the Seniors got to... DO FUN RACES YAY!!! In our Whanau houses we rotated from one activity to another! There were four activities! My Whanau ( puriri) did spoung races first! We got to throw a spoung at each other!

So that was the Howick Primary 2016 Swimming Carnival! Thank you for reading:)
